The Station House Wedding – A Dream Wedding Venue in Kilmessan
There’s something truly magical about a Station House wedding—timeless charm, stunning gardens, and an intimate, romantic atmosphere. Eadaoin and Liam’s wedding in July was a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and fun, and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing their special day at this beautiful venue.
Nestled in the heart of County Meath, The Station House Hotel is a historic wedding venue in Kilmessan. Originally a 19th-century railway station, this venue has been transformed into an exclusive wedding location, offering a unique mix of rustic charm and modern luxury.
Address: The Station House Hotel, Main St, Kilmessan, Co. Meath, Ireland
How to Get There:
The venue is conveniently located just 35 minutes from Dublin, making it an ideal location for couples looking for a countryside wedding while keeping travel easy for guests. It is accessible via the M3 motorway, with ample parking available on-site.
Best Features of The Station House for Weddings:
- The Turntable Ceremony Area: A truly unique outdoor ceremony space, surrounded by lush woodlands.
- The Carriage Suite: A beautifully restored space for receptions, offering elegance with a cozy, intimate feel.
- Twelve Acres of Gardens: The perfect backdrop for wedding photography, with endless photo opportunities among stone archways, ivy-covered walls, and charming pathways.
- Exclusivity: The venue hosts only one wedding per day, ensuring a private and relaxed celebration.
With its historic charm and picturesque surroundings, The Station House Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for Eadaoin and Liam’s celebration.
Morning Preparations – Capturing the Excitement
The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement and happy anticipation.
Eadaoin got ready at her family home, surrounded by her bridesmaids and loved ones. She wore a breathtaking Newhite dress from Ivy & White Bridal Belfast, paired with elegant Loeffler & Randall shoes and jewellery from One Dame Lane & Seoidín. Her hair was styled in soft, romantic waves by The March Hair (Melanie), and her bridal makeup was flawlessly done by Lisa O’Brien. Liam and his groomsmen prepared at the Trim Castle Hotel, a stunning setting with views of the historic Trim Castle. The groom looked sharp in a classic suit from CT2 Suits, creating the perfect balance of tradition and contemporary style.
Photographing the couple’s separate morning preparations allowed me to capture the beautiful contrast between the excitement of the bridal party and the camaraderie of the groomsmen before they met at the church. The couple exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony, surrounded by family and friends. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, capturing the essence of their love and the joy of the occasion.
One of my favourite parts of wedding photography at The Station House Hotel is capturing not just the couple but the emotions of their loved ones—tears of joy, smiles exchanged between family members, and the beautiful traditions that make each wedding unique.

Reception at The Station House – A Celebration of Love & Fun
Following the ceremony, we arrived at The Station House Hotel for the reception, where the couple wanted their fun, happiness, and energy to be reflected in the photos. And they absolutely delivered!
Highlights of the Reception Photography:
Confetti Moment: The couple chose to have their confetti celebration at the venue, making for a fantastic, colourful photo opportunity. The laughter and joy of the guests made these shots some of my favourites from the day.
champagne Pop with the Bridal Party: On arrival, Eadaoin and Liam celebrated with their bridal party by popping a bottle of champagne—a perfect way to kick off the festivities with high energy and genuine fun!
Outdoor Cake Cutting: The couple had requested to cut their cake outdoors, and the weather was on our side! This setup allowed for stunning natural light photos, with the venue’s beautiful gardens in the background.
Dancing & Celebration: As the evening continued, The Sway Social filled the venue with music, keeping the dance floor lively. Capturing candid moments of guests laughing, dancing, and celebrating was the perfect way to round off a truly incredible wedding day.
